Program Category EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS
Nairobi Matuga Mombasa Baringo Embu

About the Course

The SLDP is an intensive program focused on enhancing the leadership competencies of high-level officials. It bridges the gap between technical expertise and strategic governance, emphasizing the shift from "managing" to "leading." The curriculum covers strategic thinking, change management, policy formulation, and ethical leadership, often requiring participants to undertake a Strategic Leadership Project that addresses a real-world challenge within their respective organizations.

Aim of the Course

The primary aim of the SLDP is to equip senior managers with the advanced conceptual and analytical skills necessary to drive institutional transformation, influence policy shifts, and foster a culture of high performance and integrity within the public sector.

Target Audience

The program is specifically tailored for senior-level officials who have already completed the Senior Management Course (SMC). Key participants include: Public Service Officers: Typically in Job Group ā€˜N’ (CSG 8) and above. Executives: CEOs and senior managers from state corporations, ministries, and agencies. Private Sector & NGOs: Senior policy practitioners and leaders in international organizations. Leadership Candidates: Individuals being prepared for higher-level policy and strategic roles.

Learning Outcomes

  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrate a wider understanding of socio-economic issues at national, regional, and global levels.
  • Policy Design: Devise and implement culturally suitable policy programs across diverse fields.
  • Self-Awareness: Utilize 360-degree feedback and psychometric tools to adapt leadership styles
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage public resources with an emphasis on transparency and accountability.
  • Comparative Analysis: Apply lessons from international study tours to domestic governance challenges.
