Strategic Planning and Management (SPM)

To equip participants with the critical knowledge, mindset, and technical skills required to envision an organization’s future, formulate actionable strategies, and manage the transition from strategic intent to impactful service delivery

The program is tailored for officers who play a role in shaping or implementing organizational direction, specifically: Senior and Middle-Level Managers in National and County Governments. Strategic Planning Officers and Performance Management focal persons. Heads of Departments in State Corporations and Statutory Bodies. Private Sector Executives and NGO leaders involved in long-term institutional planning. Administrative Officers preparing for leadership roles that require policy formulation skills.

• Envision the 'Big Picture': Develop the ability to think strategically and identify long-term opportunities and threats within the public service context.
• Formulate Robust Strategies: Utilize tools such as SWOT, PESTEL, and the Balanced Scorecard to create actionable strategic plans
• Align Resources: Successfully link strategic objectives with budgetary allocations and human capital to ensure plan viability
• Execute with Precision: Apply change management techniques and stakeholder engagement strategies to overcome barriers to implementation
• Monitor and Evaluate: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and institutionalize a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Lead National Transformation: Align institutional goals with broader national development frameworks and the Constitution of Kenya.
