Accounting Officers Program (AOP)

The primary aim of the Accounting Officers Program is to empower senior officials with a deeper understanding of their statutory obligations and to equip them with the strategic leadership, financial management and ethical competencies necessary to ensure high institutional performance, transparency and accountability in the delivery of services to citizens.

Accounting Officers in Ministries, County Governments, State Corporations, Constitutional Commissions, the Judiciary, the Legislature, and private sector corporate executives.

• Fiduciary Excellence: Mastering the legal and practical responsibilities of an Accounting Officer under the PFM Act.
• Public Financial Oversight: Ensuring efficient, effective, and transparent utilization of public resources.
• Strategic Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating systemic risks within public entities.
• Internal Control Strengthening: Establishing robust audit and control systems to prevent financial leakage
• Policy Alignment: Synchronizing organizational spending with the National Development Agenda
• Ethical Leadership: Upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and professional ethics in public service.
• Performance Accountability: Leading organizational performance and ensuring value for money in public procurement and project implementation.
