Aim of the Course
The aim of the Essentials of Counseling in the Public Service course at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) is to equip public servants with foundational counseling skills and knowledge, enabling them to effectively support the psychosocial wellbeing of colleagues and clients, handle workplace challenges empathetically, and make appropriate referrals to specialized services when necessary

- Adopt the interventions necessary in responding to fixation of employees at any of the human developmental stages that impact staff and job performance;
- Demonstrate awareness of the need for counseling for public servants
- Utilize life skills in the management of employees facing psycho-social challenges
