Aim of the Course
To equip interns with the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to navigate the public service environment, uphold national values, and deliver professional services in alignment with the government's development agenda.
Target Audience
The program is specifically tailored for: Newly recruited interns under the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP). Graduates recently posted to various Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). County Government interns seeking to understand the national and devolved public service structures.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand Governance Structures: Gain a clear overview of the organization of the Government of Kenya.
- Adhere to Ethics and Integrity: Demonstrate knowledge of the Public Officer Ethics Act and the Code of Conduct.
- Master Government Communication: Apply standard procedures for handling official correspondence, memo writing and protocol-compliant communication
- Internalize National Values: Align their work performance with Article 10 of the Constitution
- Navigate HR Policies: Understand their rights, responsibilities and the performance management systems used in the public sector
- Professional Grooming & Etiquette: Exhibit appropriate office etiquette, personal branding and public relations skills suitable for a government office.
